The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change has announced the opening of registration for the 2024-2025 winter camping season. To take advantage of this opportunity, the public is encouraged to register through the National Authentication System. Online registration will be available on the ministry’s website and through the “Bee’ah” app, covering all areas of the country. Registration will be open from mid-October until early November.
The ministry has established several conditions that must be followed to ensure the smooth operation of the camping season.
First, applicants must be Qatari nationals and at least 25 years old. They must also pay permit and insurance fees within a specified period following approval. These fees are non-refundable under any circumstances. Additionally, the campsite must be set up in coordination with a ministry inspector; otherwise, the insurance deposit will be forfeited.
The regulations prohibit submitting modification requests after the campsite has been established and restrict individuals from obtaining multiple permits. Permit holders are required to display the camp’s sign in a visible location, allowing inspectors to verify compliance with the conditions. The ministry emphasized the importance of adhering to the country’s environmental laws.
The permit holder is responsible for maintaining public cleanliness and environmental protection, ensuring the campsite is properly occupied and not neglected, and avoiding digging, using cement, or constructing permanent buildings within the campsite. The use of washed sand is permitted. The ministry also emphasized the importance of keeping a safe distance from government facilities to mitigate potential risks.
The camp owner bears full responsibility for any damages or accidents that may occur within the campsite, and the ministry assumes no liability for any losses. Additionally, the site must be vacated and restored to its original condition upon the permit’s expiration. Legal measures, including camp removal, may be enforced without prior notice in case of non-compliance.
The concerned party may appeal this decision to the minister within ten days from the date of notification. The minister must review the appeal and issue a decision within fifteen days of its submission. If no response is provided within this period, the appeal will be considered implicitly rejected.
The ministry reserves the right to amend or introduce new regulations to protect the environment, with the authority to revoke permits for non-compliance. It emphasizes the importance of reporting any changes to permit information and coordinating with relevant authorities to ensure proper waste and water disposal.
In conclusion, the ministry emphasized respecting religious and social values during the camping season and adhering to public decency standards.
