The Supreme Judicial Council announced the launch of the “Taqadi Platform” of the Investment and Trade Court, specializing in judicial claims and requests according to Law No. 21 of 2021.
The “Taqadi Platform” will commence operations on May 29, 2024. The Council stated on its X account that cases and related requests filed before this date will continue through the “Mahakim” system until they are resolved.
Ms. Meitha Al Nuaimi, Assistant Undersecretary for the President’s Office Affairs at the Supreme Judiciary Council, previously discussed the upcoming launch of litigation processes via WhatsApp.
She confirmed that the judicial system in the state has seen significant digital transformation in all litigation procedures, from registration to deliberation, judgment issuance, and execution.
She noted that the council offers various services, including an electronic portal for lawyers and a court application. Soon, a WhatsApp service will be launched to facilitate procedures for litigants and individuals.
Speaking on the “Itqan” program on Qatar TV in March, Ms. Meitha explained that the Supreme Judiciary Council’s portal provides 10 electronic services: registering a commercial lawsuit, submitting a memorandum, registering a civil lawsuit, registering a performance order, registering an appeal, inquiring about a session, registering a rental lawsuit, requesting the opening of pleadings, requesting a lawsuit waiver, and requesting to impose/cancel a travel ban.
She indicated that the lawsuit registration service allows an individual or lawyer to submit all required data and register the parties’ information. Afterwards, the transfer and registration process is completed at the relevant judicial authority.
She added that after all the lawsuit data is filled in and the request is electronically signed, the request is automatically registered through the application or WhatsApp, and the lawsuit filer receives an immediate text message confirming the registration and scheduling of the first session.
She confirmed that the maximum time for scheduling a lawsuit is 21 days, with the lawsuit being automatically registered with the judicial circuits and all concerned parties being notified of the session dates.
The Supreme Judicial Council continues its plan to develop electronic justice, including improving technical programs and accompanying training programs to activate the systems. This aims to update the financial system for court deposits, including the Execution Court, litigants, the Judgment Execution Department, the Judgment Expenses Department, the Family Expenses Department, and the Department of Experts and Arbitrators, as well as the Court Auctions Department.
